JobBoardSearch made a paid placement harder to miss.
The first sponsor placement changed from a lightly outlined card to a green-filled card. Rodrigo’s public WIP task explicitly said he wanted to restyle the ad slot so it would be more highlighted.
The advertiser also changed, so the comparison is about card treatment rather than advertiser identity. The later image is a live observation from September 22, not an archived capture.
Give a paid placement more visual weight.
Our reading: a stronger background separates the sponsor from the directory around it and makes the paid placement easier to notice. Rodrigo publicly described sponsorship upgrades as a monetization experiment, but he has not reported whether this specific restyle changed clicks, inquiries or renewals.
The light outline gives the sponsor card similar weight to the surrounding interface.
The green fill increases contrast while keeping the same two-card sponsor row.

I added two upgrades to JobBoardSearch: Featured Boost and All Channels Shoutout. Today, 11 job boards are paying for them. That's an extra $489 MRR from a simple experiment.
This establishes that paid visibility was already an active monetization experiment. It predates the September restyle and does not measure the effect of the green card.
