PatFounder, Starter StoryStarter Story made its database the product, and made it free.
The May homepage asks for an email to unlock 4,502 case studies and join a founder community. By July, the same page opens with a searchable table of 2,855-plus revenue-generating projects, labels the data live, and says access is free. The center of the offer moved from joining a library and community to exploring structured founder data.
The captures bound the visible homepage change between May 11 and July 3, 2026. HubSpot acquired Starter Story in February, but neither Pat nor HubSpot publicly connects that acquisition to this exact page decision or reports its effect on signups, revenue or lead generation.

Our reading: the new page makes Starter Story useful before a visitor commits to membership. A live table demonstrates the depth of the dataset immediately, while free access broadens the top of the funnel. Pat said the acquisition would bring more resources, tools and experiments, but he has not publicly identified this redesign as one of them.
The page sells a large case-study library and founder community through an email form.
A live table and filters make the founder dataset visible as the product itself.
